Plot

A former thief, Will Montgomery (Nicolas Cage), is released from prison for a bank robbery of $10 million. He decides to visit his estranged daughter, Alison, whom he hasn't seen in eight years. But then an old partner (Josh Lucas), who many believed to have died, kidnaps Alison and locks her in the trunk of his medallion taxi cab, and demands ransom: the $10 million he believes Will still has. Since he doesn't, Will has to rob another bank as the detective that put him away (Danny Huston) tracks him down again.

Production

Filming began March 2011 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was released in U.S. theaters September 14, 2012.

Reception

The film currently does not yet have a consensus rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but a score of 13% "Rotten" based on eight reviews. Stolen was a box office failure, grossing only $304,318 domestically ($2,106,557 worldwide) on a budget of over $35 million and was pulled from theaters after two weeks.
